| The Afterlife |
One of the great questions that mankind has sought to answer is "What comes next?" Religions and beliefs offer answers, and it is time for the Church of Dim Sum to draw a line in the sand on this topic. Most images of an afterlife or life after death include a continuation of the soul, perhaps on a new plane of existence. There could be a direct interaction with a divinity and perhaps some judgment involved. From there, it could be on to a new life back here or a continued existence in the aforementioned plane of existence. Most beliefs that include an afterlife, hold that your actions in this life affect your life in the afterlife. In the Church of Dim Sum, the question we ask "Is there really a life after Dim Sum?" It is a mystery, best meditated on while you eat a few Ha Gow. Typically the afterlife begins with the phrase "m goi maidan" (唔該埋單) or just "maidan" which translates to "check please". Note, if you want to remember this, imagine you have a friend called Dan, of whom you are very possessive. So you tell the waiter that he is "My Dan" - they will understand you clearly that way.
After Dim Sum, your mission is to earn more money (known as Dim Sum credits) ready to invite more friends to your next Dim Sum. Some people try to extend their Dim Sum by a technique known as ordering extra to go, although it is a pale comparison to be eating Dim Sum at home.
